Once upon a time there was a girl
who liked to steal men's hats.
She took them from heads and tables
and coat hooks all across the land
and brought them home one at a time.
But it was not long before
she got bored, and the cupboard
where she kept them got very full.
One day a boy tried to give her his hat
but she would not accept the gift. He
was so upset, and turned to walk into the rain.
Then he felt a sudden lightness
on his head and heard
a disappearing giggle as the girl ran away.
